Ad Manaurem 1762 – 2025 String Quartet Season: A Musical Triumph
The 2025 String Quartet Season of Ad Manaurem 1762 was marked by a prestigious partnership with the CNSMDP of Paris, the mdw of Vienna, and the Royal Academy of Music of London. These collaborations brought together three exceptional quartets for an extraordinary masterclass, passionately led by Johannes Meissl, Professor of Chamber Music and Vice-Rector for International Affairs and the Arts at the mdw (University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna) and artistic director of this season. His expertise, enthusiasm, and the quality of his teaching left a deep impression on our young artists.

Highlights of the week
Beyond the daily individual lessons, our young talents were able to fully benefit from an ideal working environment. The serene and inspiring atmosphere of the château fostered a unique setting conducive to creativity and personal growth. High-quality accommodation allowed them to work and rehearse without constraint, 24 hours a day.

The closing concert in Saint-Jean-de-Côle
The closing concert on Friday, August 29th, held in the church of Saint-Jean-de-Côle, was a true triumph. Welcoming over 250 spectators, the virtuosity of our three quartets won over a discerning audience, who saluted them with a standing ovation worthy of the greatest summer stages.
We express our deep gratitude to the talented photographers of the "Objectif Photo en Périgord Vert" association for capturing these precious moments throughout the week, and for graciously making their images available to us.

Our sincerest thanks go to the members, volunteers, and the board of directors of Ad Manaurem 1762. Their unwavering commitment and support are essential to the excellence and sustainability of our association.
We were also deeply honored by the presence of Ms. Ulrike Sych, Rector of the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (mdw), as well as Professor Cobus Swanepoel, Director of Classical Music at the ZHdK (Zurich University of the Arts). Their presence by our side is an invaluable sign of trust and sincerely touched us.
A big thank you also to our valuable supporters, without whom none of this would be possible:
-
The Communauté de Communes du Périgord-Limousin, and in particular its President, Michel Augeix (Mayor of St Martin de Fressengeas), Isabelle Hyvoz (Mayor of Thiviers and Regional Councillor), Francis Sedan (Mayor of Saint-Jean-de-Côle), and Raphaël Chipeaux (First Deputy of Nantheuil and Vice-President in charge of Culture). Their support was decisive for the realization of our project.
-
La Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, for its commitment and trust from the very beginning of our project.
-
Crédit Agricole, and more particularly the Thiviers branch, which has always welcomed, guided, and helped us, to the extent of allowing us to obtain significant funding from the Fondation du Crédit Agricole Charente-Périgord for the purchase of a piano for our new residence for musicians.
-
And of course, a big thank you to Périgord Magazine, our media partner. A very beautiful article about Ad Manaurem 1762 can be found in their pages.
