EDITORIAL  DECEMBER  2025

Happy Holidays and Dates to Remember

Dear members and friends of Ad Manaurem,

As the 2025 season draws to a close, we would like to share with you all the joy and pride we feel. Thanks to your support, we have been able to mentor 25 promising young musicians and organise two magnificent concerts that delighted more than 500 spectators. This year also saw the arrival of the Zurich Conservatory of Music as one of our sponsors – a wonderful development that promises great things for the future.

We are also delighted to see our big family growing: more than 90 members from a variety of backgrounds have joined us, all driven by the same passion for music and the desire to help aspiring artists. And what a pleasure it is to see more and more Périgourdins joining our initiative and enjoying concerts close to home!

A huge thank you to each and every one of you for your enthusiasm and generosity. And a special mention to our volunteers, whose commitment and energy enable our masterclasses to run smoothly.

Here are some dates to remember!

We look forward to seeing you at the general meeting on Saturday 11 April 2026 in Saint-Martin-de- Fressengeas.

The 2026 piano master class will be led by Christopher Hinterhuber, professor at the MdW (Vienna) and renowned solo pianist. It will take place from 27 June to 4 July 2026, with a concert on Friday 3 July at the Church of Saint Jean de Côle.

The board of directors has decided to renew the master class dedicated to string quartets. It will take place from 22 to 28 August 2026, with a concert on Friday 28 August.

It will be led by Johannes Meissl, who we are delighted to welcome back for the second session in 2026.

The Orangerie in Saint-Martin-de-Fressengeas will now be open all year round to welcome young artists in residence.

It is time for us all to take advantage of the end of the year to take a break and celebrate Christmas.

Petra Andrensek, a member of Ad Manaurem, offers you an exclusive preview of her new song: a warm ballad entitled Christmas Time, created especially to accompany you at the end of the year.

We wish you a wonderful holiday season with your family and friends. We look forward to seeing you again very soon and preparing for the 2026 season together.

We look forward to this inspiring collaboration, which will take place from June 27 to July 4, 2026. “Christopher knows our patronage programme very well and has been involved since its creation, as a professor at the MdW, in selecting outstanding young artists. For this season, he will bring the excellence of Viennese music to our young laureates, thereby strengthening the international reputation of our work in the Périgord Vert.” — Didier Sourisseau Photo: Julia Wesely

A New Piano Enriches Our
Music Residency

We are delighted about the arrival of our new digital piano for the Ad Manaurem 1762 music residency. The acquisition was generously co-funded by the Fondation Crédit Agricole Charente-Périgord. We would like to thank the Foundation for its valuable and generous support of our patronage for talented young musicians. This new instrument will significantly enrich the work and creativity of the artists in our residency. In the attached photo, you can see Didier Sourisseau, Bruno Baudouin, and Thierry de Beaumont-Beynac, who helped with the installation of the instrument.

Welcome to the Orangerie: A New Residence for Young Talents in the Périgord Vert

Ad Manaurem 1762 has opened its doors for an exciting new project. We are delighted to announce the opening of our residence, specially designed for young musicians. Our first guests, the talented Idalia String Quartet, have already arrived and are filling the space in the heart of the Périgord Vert with music. This new step deepens our commitment to the talents of tomorrow, while staying true to our philosophy. The residence provides not only an inspiring setting for rehearsals but also moments for meeting and exchange. The peace and beauty of the Périgord Vert create an ideal environment for artistic growth. This project is fully aligned with our belief that musical excellence thrives best in a supportive, family-like environment. With the residence, we now offer an even more comprehensive platform to encourage and support the next generation of classical music.

New partnership with Zurich (ZHdK)

We are delighted to announce that we have signed a new partnership with Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). This partnership will enable us to strengthen our ties with the Swiss art world and offer new opportunities to their young musicians. With around 2,800 students and 650 teaching staff, Zurich University of the Arts is one of Europe's leading arts universities. Its academic reputation and top-notch teaching staff are recognized the world over. Professor Cobus Swanepoel, Head of Interpretation and Performance at the ZHdK, says he appreciates this new type of program, which enables him to collaborate in a different way with leading music academies. "It provides an extraordinary opportunity for young talents from different backgrounds to work together in a unique environment. We thank you for your support and commitment to classical music." As part of this partnership, we look forward to welcoming the first winner of our piano master classes in the 2025 season. This program will offer this young pianist the opportunity to benefit from high-quality training and to perform on stage with other young artists representing the new generation.

General Assembly Ad Manaurem 1762: Trust and New Energy

Yesterday’s general assembly of Ad Manaurem 1762, held at the multipurpose hall of St. Martin de Fressengeas, was marked by commitment and a positive spirit of renewal. The re-election of the president and vice president demonstrated renewed trust in their ability to drive future projects forward. The presence of many local officials highlighted the momentum and goals of our association. Building on a solid foundation and with collective determination, dynamic new perspectives for the future were developed. This positive energy forms an excellent basis for continuing the story of our association.

DECEMBER 2024

Welcome Johannes Meissl

For our first string quartet masterclass, we are very honoured to announce the arrival of Johannes Meissl as artistic director. Johannes speaks French very well and was attracted by our unique programme and the idea of coming to Périgord. He already knows and works with our two other partners, with whom meetings are planned to prepare this master class. Without wishing to use superlatives, it's a great opportunity for us to organise such an event: for classical music specialists, the quartet is considered to be one of the finest demonstrations of the art, and the concert at the end of August promises to be the grand finale of the season.

Concert salle Gaveau (Paris)

We reunited with Denis Pascal on Friday, November 15, at the salle Gaveau for a concert featuring his two sons, Alexandre (violinist) and Aurélien (cellist), along with countertenor Paul Figuier. The program for this magnificent evening at Gaveau was dedicated to contemporary works by Bruno Coulais, Arvo Pärt, and Jean Philippe Goude. We were particularly captivated by the world premiere of Miserere and Salve Regina for voice, violin, cello, and piano by Jean Philippe Goude. Exuding profound depth through the restrained interpretation of the Pascal trio, the voice of Paul Figuier elevated us into the spirituality of this magnificent prayer of Salve Regina. The second part was dedicated to Franz Schubert and his Piano Trio No. 2, Op. 100, a masterpiece whose mastery and romanticism were deeply appreciated by the audience. Discover the Pascal Trio and Paul Figuier on their latest album, Anima Mea.

Partnerships renewed for 2025

The new season began with intensive visits to Paris, London, and Vienna. Our meetings went very well, with positive results. The three partnerships have been renewed for 2025. Now we must rise to the challenge of our success, as some are asking us to do even more. We will have to take on this new challenge, but it seems that "impossible" is not in the Ad Manaurem spirit!
